10-week Shoah/Holocaust seminar
What role does the Shoah play in current debate on the Arab/Muslim – Israeli Conflict? At each weekly session, the seminar, the group will address key questions raised by the Shoah. Participants will share their own responses and study those of leading teachers, religious figures, philosophers, historians, and survivors to each question. In each meeting, seminar discussion will alternate with havruta (pair work) study of relevant texts. No prerequisite study or homework will be required, though supplementary sources will be available for those interested. Each session willstand alone; participants may join for the entire series or for individual sessions that interest them at any point in the course. The seminar will be led by Raphael Colb, a veteran English teacher at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and a 2010 graduate of the Yad Vashem Program for Holocaust Educators from Abroad. Interfaith Seder Educational Experience
