Tu BiShevat, the new year for trees, has been celebrated since the late Middle Ages with a Seder. It takes place in the middle of winter in anticipation of the spring. Traditions include readings and songs about trees and their symbolism, 4 cups of grape juice or wine as on Pesach, and eating fruits and nuts with different characteristics symbolizing different aspects of our souls and our spiritual life. There will be nuts served at this Seder. Congregation Betenu is taking the lead in organizing this year's Tu BiShevet Seder, which will be held at Beth Abraham and on Zoom (coming soon, check our website for updates).
Open to all and free to attend. Please follow the link so we know how many to plan for!
