Massachusetts / New Hampshire Scout Shabbat 2025

(but open to Scouts from across the country)
7 March 2025

Temple Emanu-El in Haverhill, Massachusetts will be hosting Scout Shabbat on Friday, March 7th, 2025.  A handout with all of the information is attached.  The Temple is located 2 miles south of the New Hampshire / Massachusetts border, just off Route 495.  This Scout Shabbat service will be both in person and via Zoom allowing Scouts and Scout Leaders to participate remotely if desired.

Scout Shabbat offers an opportunity for Scouts to show their duty to God, an integral part of the Scout Oath/Promise, and allows worshipers to honor Scouts and Scout Leaders in the community for their achievements and service.  This is done as part of the standard Jewish Friday Night Service.

In previous years, over 100 Scouts from the area participated in this event. The event is open to all Scouts and their families, regardless of religious affiliation.   In past years, we've had Scouts paritipate from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Arizona, Florida, Nevada, New York & New Jersey!

A Scout Shabbat handout is attached in PDF format. For more information on Scout Shabbat, please visit the National  Jewish Committee on Scouting's web site at http://www.jewishscouting.org/ or the National Jewish Committee on Girl Scouting's web site at http://www.njcgs.org/

There is no charge for this event and all Scouts who attend in will receive a commemorative patch.
