Scout Shabbat 2022

Due to the recent surge in COVID cases, the annual MA/NH Scout Shabbat Service has been changed to an online event. The Service will be hosted by Temple Emanu-El in Haverhill, Massachusetts on Friday, February 4th, 2022 at 7PM.  An updated handout for the event is attached.  There will not be an in-person service.

Scout Shabbat offers an opportunity for Scouts to show their duty to God, an integral part of the Scout Oath/Promise, and allows worshipers to honor Scouts and Scout Leaders in the community for their achievements and service. This is done as part of the standard Jewish Friday Night Service.

In previous years, over 100 Scouts from the area participated in this event. The event is open to all Scouts and their families, regardless of religious affiliation.

A Scout Shabbat handout is attached. For more information on Scout Shabbat, please visit the National  Jewish Committee on Scouting's web site at http://www.jewishscouting.org/ or the National Jewish Committee on Girl Scouting's web site at http://www.njcgs.org/

There is no charge for this event and all Scouts who attend in will receive a commemorative patch by mail.

If you had already registered for the in-person event, a Zoom link will be sent to you for the service.  There is no need to re-register.
