Yom HaShoah Program sponsored by Temple B'nai Israel and the Laconia Human Relations Committee

TBI partners with the Laconia Human Relations Committee to commemorate the Holocaust and promote the importance of standing up against injustice.  “Defying the Nazis: Sharps' War” is a 2016 documentary film directed by Ken Burns and Artemis Joukowsky.  The film tells the story of Unitarian Minister Waitstill Sharp and his wife Martha, from Wellesley, Massachusetts, who helped to save scores of imperiled Jews and refugees fleeing Nazi occupation across Europe. 
The introduction and discussion following the movie will be led by Larry Benaquist, Ph.D., Emeritus Professor Film Studies, Keene State College.
