The Jewish Federation of New Hampshire (JFNH) is a statewide organization that connects and engages the wider Jewish community of New Hampshire through meaningful local, regional, and statewide activities. JFNH advocates for the interests of the Jewish community locally and in Israel, raises and allocates resources to enable a thriving and safe Jewish New Hampshire, and partners with the state’s synagogues to enhance and expand Jewish life throughout the state.

Position Overview:
JFNH is seeking a passionate and civic-minded Community Advocacy Coordinator to help elevate Israel education, deepen understanding of antisemitism, and strengthen Jewish advocacy across New Hampshire.

This role is ideal for someone who cares deeply about Jewish communal life, enjoys building relationships, and wants to make a meaningful impact in a small but vibrant statewide community. The Coordinator will help design and support programs, respond to emerging issues, and amplify the voices and needs of the Jewish community. The Community Advocacy Coordinator will work closely with highly engaged volunteers, community partners, and the Executive Director as part of a collaborative and mission-driven team.

Compensation:

Responsibilities:

Program Development & Community Engagement

  • Plan, support, and help deliver high-quality advocacy, education, and engagement programs aligned with the JFNH strategic plan.

  • Coordinate with volunteers, synagogues, and community partners to bring advocacy, education, and engagement programs to communities across the state.

  • Support the Shlichut (Israeli Emissary) Program and assist in the planning and logistics for Israel Mission programs.

Advocacy: Response, & Monitoring

  • Monitor statewide activities, including NH Statehouse matters, related to Israel, antisemitism, and Jewish communal concerns.

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and key volunteers to respond to antisemitic incidents, including drafting communication to affected communities, partners, and media.

  • Systematically track antisemitism and anit-Zionism trends nationally and locally to inform program development and strategic responses.

Communications & Logistics

  • Manage logistics for multiple programs: registrations, materials, communications, and event readiness.

  • Lead marketing efforts related to Israel education and antisemitism awareness, including creating promotional materials (Canva experience a plus).

  • Manage relevant social media content tied to the position’s responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

  • Strong understanding of contemporary Jewish issues, including Israel and antisemitism.

  • A background in education and/or understanding of educational principles. 

  • Excellent organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple initiatives.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Constant Contact, and CRM software systems; comfort with learning new tools.

  • Experience with Canva is a plus.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Standard schedule is Sunday–Thursday, with regular programs on Sundays and occasional evening events.

  • Flexible scheduling and comp time considered when possible.

  • Regular statewide travel is required; a reliable car is essential.
