Join Jewish Federation of New Hampshire in observances around the state for
Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day.

 

Yom HaShoah begins at sundown on April 17th and ends at sundown on April 18th, 2023. This is a time to commemorate the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, and the heroism of survivors and rescuers.

Six Million Steps

Sunday, April 16th, 4:30pm

This year, Jewish Federation of New Hampshire is partnering with Manchester synagogues to participate in "Six Million Steps", a national program supported by the Israeli American Council to preserve the memory of the Holocaust and raise awareness of global antisemitism. (www.6msteps.org/)

Walk with us to help achieve the goal of 6 million collective steps as a community, followed by a hybrid lecture on "Images of Contemporary Holocaust Representation", by Dr, Carol Salus, Professor Emerita, Kent State University.

  • 4:30pm: Meet at Temple Israel, 66 Salmon Street, Manchester.
  • 4:45pm: Walk will begin promptly, arriving at Temple Adath Yeshurun, 152 Prospect Street, Manchester at approximately 5:15pm.
  • 5:30pm: Join In-Person at Temple Adath Yeshurun or via Zoom for a talk with Guest Speaker Carol Salus, Professor Emerita, Kent State University.
  • An optional Yom HaShoah Service will follow in-person and via Zoom.

Security will be provided throughout the walk and program.

Yom HaShoah Services

JFNH, in conjunction with the Holocaust Survivor Remembrance Committee, is partnering with Etz Hayim Synagogue in Derry for a Yom HaShoah service. Join us on the eve of Yom HaShoah for a community service including original poems by Judy Felsen, Kaddish and the memorial sirens in Israel.
