What is a healthy human being? Here, we’re not just talking about how to be physically healthy. Are there practices and tools to help us live with integrity, find emotional balance, form positive relationships with the people around us, our community and the earth? How do we find meaning and act on it? What is a soul? We often look outside of Judaism for answers through psychology, meditation or mindfulness. Judaism has been working with these questions for thousands of years.
We will explore Jewish views of holistic health and then build on that with practical steps one can take towards a life of shleimut/wholeness. Judaism has a rich heritage of meditation, breathing practices, a practice of Joy and gratitude, mussar- a self - improvement method refined over a thousand years, psychological insights and methods to connect us to the holy.
