We will begin with refreshments (Tisha B’Av will not have begun yet!) and a brief study of the sacred observance. We will then continue with a Maariv service during which the Book of Lamentations will be read, chanted partially in the sad trope (tune) of Eicha and read partially in English.

Since Tisha B’Av is a day of mourning for the Jewish people, the lights in the room will be dimmed and those who want to sit on the floor will be able to do so; others can remain seated in chairs. Please bring a flashlight or cell phone with a flashlight app!
